Groups ask EPA to take over Louisiana Clean Air program December 14th, 2011 |
Louisiana Bucket Brigade and Environmental Integrity Project filed a petition today for the EPA to step in and take action because Louisiana has failed to properly fund, monitor, and enforce the rules governing major polluters in the state under Title V of the federal Clean Air Act. Louisiana underfunds the Title V program by nearly $10 million a year and Texas’ average penalties are 22 times higher than Louisiana’s. Click here to read more about the petition.
