State and Ascension Parish officials are planning a Hyundai ribbon cutting for next week, a ribbon cutting despite the fact that Hyundai has no permits to operate. The state and parish have committed millions of dollars of OUR money for this destruction, and we are challenging this abuse of public funding in court. Yet still, they barrel forward with a ribbon cutting and relentless social media chest thumping. We believe they are flying too close to the sun. 

Let the Governor strut. We have posed serious, existential challenges to this project, knowing that our state’s money is better invested in local people and state-based businesses. Exposing the flaws in the air permit is just one step in our plan to scrap the bad plans and pivot to better ones. We hope you can join us tomorrow.
